How BJJ Instructor Approval Works
Every SYG application goes through a strict multi-step verification process involving academy checks, instructor confirmation, AI-assisted fraud detection, and manual admin approval.
- Your academy must have a public online presence.
- Your instructor must be publicly associated with that academy.
- Verification emails may be sent to official academy or instructor email addresses.
- Uploaded certificates are treated as supporting evidence only.
- AI assists verification and fraud detection.
- Final approval is always manually reviewed by SYG admin.
- Applications with inconsistent or unverifiable information may be flagged for manual review.

SYG Registry is open to all Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners worldwide — from first-day White Belts to the highest levels of Black Belt.
Every practitioner can create and maintain an official SYG member profile to represent their Jiu-Jitsu journey, rank, academy affiliation, and verified progression.
However, official SYG Academy Registration, instructor verification, and belt promotion verification are exclusively reserved for verified Black Belt-led academies and higher-ranked instructors.
Only verified Black Belt instructors or above are authorised to confirm belt promotions, lineage verification, and academy credibility within the SYG Registry network.
